Drop or select your image, review the report and click “Remove metadata”. Then download the clean copy. It works in the browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, with no app and no account. ### How do I remove the location (GPS) from a photo? GPS coordinates are stored in the image’s EXIF block. The report shows you up front whether your photo contains a location. Both modes remove it completely, along with camera, serial number and capture time. ### Why does Instagram or Facebook show “AI info” on my image? Meta reads provenance data from the metadata, mainly C2PA and IPTC. Tools like Photoshop, Firefly or ChatGPT write it into the file, often after just a small AI retouch. The report shows you which AI hints your file contains. ### Don’t Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp strip metadata anyway? Partly. Many platforms remove the location on upload but read AI data first. If you send an image as a file, by email, via a cloud link or to a website, the metadata often arrives intact. ### What is C2PA (Content Credentials)? C2PA is a standard for provenance records. A signed manifest inside the image records which device or software created and edited it. Adobe, OpenAI, Google and some camera makers use it. CleanYourImages shows the manifest and removes it completely. ### Are all AI traces removed? All in the metadata, yes. Pixel watermarks like SynthID remain. Genuine AI images should still be labelled. ### Does my image lose quality? No. Only metadata blocks are removed, the image data is not recompressed. ### Is my image uploaded? No. Processing happens only in your browser; nothing is sent to a server or stored. Once the page has loaded, the tool even works offline. ### Which formats are supported? JPG, PNG and WebP up to 20 MB and 100 megapixels. Other formats such as HEIC are rejected, not converted. Export iPhone photos as JPG first. ### How much does CleanYourImages cost? Nothing. No account, no waiting, no watermark. The only limit is 20 MB per file. ## Related - [CleanYourContent](https://cleanyourcontent.com/en/): Copied text from an AI?
